I wanted the best traction basketball shoes because I got really tired of coming home from a basketball game with my friends and spending the next three days icing my feet. I used an old pair of shoes that I had sitting around the house and I really shouldn’t have been using them because the game just tore my feet up. I could barely walk the day after and they still hurt a few days later. It’s likely being older combined with using shoes with a poor sole. Basketball involves a lot of pounding down the court and sliding and stopping.
I heard about actual basketball shoes that have something called traction soles that are supposedly a dream to wear while playing the game. I looked at some pictures online and had to laugh when I saw the soles of the shoes. No wonder I’m in so much pain. My shoes are almost smooth on the bottom, which always guaranteed my toes and heel would be slamming around inside the shoes. The ones with traction give you an excellent grip on the floor so that when you stop suddenly, you stop and don’t slide. They also cushion your foot better.
I used a site online that ran through several options about which shoes are best and also explained why you should be wearing them. The site gave me some great ideas of wear to look so I could see some other reviews and very quickly I made a decision and got a pair. I could tell immediately they were far superior to anything I’ve ever worn as soon as I put them on. It felt like I was walking on a cloud, and when I wore them at the next game my playing improved immensely, so much so that my friends wanted to know what I did to become such a better player.
